Liesbet De Wit
Biography
Liesbet De Wit (°1978) completed her study ‘Physiotherapy and rehabilitation Sciences’ in 2000 at the University of Gent. She then further specialized in Neuromotor Rehabilitation (2001) at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. In 2006 she received the degree of doctor in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences (PhD), having worked on a European project ‘Collaborative Evaluation of Rehabilitation in Stroke across Europe’.
In the next 10 years, Liesbet combined research and teaching in the broad field of health sciences, both from a clinical and an organisational perspective. From 2011-2017, she was assigned as doctor-assistant in the master study ‘Management and policy in health sciences’ at the Faculty of Medicine at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. In that period, she also started a research line concerning the topic of Quality of Life and was a member of the research group, I-Cher, under the lead of Prof. Koen Putman. In that same period, she was assigned as guest professor at the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Movement Sciences (VUB).
In 2017, Liesbet left university to broaden up perspective. She worked as project advisor at vzw Kom Op Tegen Kanker and was the coordinator of cvba Hoogbloeier, an expertise network and education center on giftedness. In 2023, Liesbet finished her study of specialist in giftedness at the Radboud University (Radboud International training on High Ability). In the same year, she started her own private advice-and coaching practice in which she works with gifted adolescents, teenagers, students and adults both on an individual- and on a group level, on themes such as self-image, mindset, perfectionism, connection etc.
